November 9, 2016- NDC Corporate Equity Fund XIII announced a LIHTC closing for the new construction of a 158-unit assisted living project. The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center was completed in partnership with SCA Properties and Evergreen Real Estate.
The development sits on a formally vacant 5-acre site, in Brooklyn Center, MN, in close proximity to downtown Minneapolis. Like NDCs other assisted living projects, The Sanctuary will serve seniors who need assistance in activities of daily living, but do not require the full care of a nursing home facility. Services to tenants include meals, housekeeping and personal care, these services will be provided by The Pathway Senior Living of Chicago.
Of the 158 units, 86 will be 1-BR and the other 72 will be studios. Twenty-eight studios will be set aside for residents requiring memory care. Each unit will have a small kitchen with cupboards, a small refrigerator and a microwave. All units will be fully handicapped accessible. All utilities except telephone will be included in the rent.
