The National Development Council is proud to announce the grand opening of Scotten Park. In Partnership with Southwest Housing Solutions (SHS), NDC’s Corporate Equity Fund IX assisted in the funding of this LIHTC development. Southwest Housing Solutions hosted a grand opening event on May 24, 2013, which was a huge success and brought visitors from the local community, as well as prospective applicants to tour the completed project. The townhouses sit on a renewed street with views of the Detroit Downtown Skyline and the International Ambassador’s Bridge.
The Project is located in Detroit, Michigan; the new construction will be 36 units of affordable rental family housing on a vacant, tax foreclosed property. SHS is part of a larger organization, Southwest Solutions, Inc. (SWS) which operates in the Southwest Detroit neighborhood. Scotten Park is the second phase expansion of the successful Hubbard Community project completed by SWS last year; this project was the construction of 44 rental homes on a nearby property. Residents and businesses are very pleased by the construction of new, quality homes and the removal of blight conditions. NDC hopes Scotten Park will continue the revitalization of this Detroit Neighborhood.
