Dr. Cara Marker Daily, a pediatric psychologist, began Daily Behavioral Health in 2005 to “care for the mental, physical, social, behavioral, and spiritual health of children, teenagers, and their families.” (www.dailybh.com.) Within just a few years, she outgrew her rented office space in Cleveland’s Kamm’s Corner neighborhood. Dr. Marker turned to Cuyahoga County and the Grow Cuyahoga County Fund for help. A partnership between Cuyahoga County and NDC’s Grow America Fund, the Grow Cuyahoga County Fund has leveraged an initial investment of $365,000 more than four times over to finance $1.5 million in project costs and retained or created more than 36 jobs since its inception in 2006.
Dr. Marker Daily utilized a Grow Cuyahoga County Fund loan to purchase and renovate a complex of buildings in the neighborhood to give her thriving practice room to grow. She also set aside space for Inner Health Ministries, a non-profit group that provides social skills classes to children with autism.
Daily Behavioral Health and Inner Health Ministries Child Center held an open house on October 10, 2008 to welcome their clients to the new facility and highlight their programs, which include important health and behavioral evaluations as well as services for children with autism spectrum disorders, chronic health conditions, and other special needs. During the event, Councilman Martin Sweeney and the City of Cleveland were presented with an award for promoting small business and residential growth
