During the NDC 50th Celebration at Kings Theatre, NDC honored BB&T, now Truist, for its work with NDC since 1997.  This continuing partnership with NDC and NDC Training has helped to build the capacity of over 8,000 professionals in nonprofit development corporations, small business development centers, CDFIs, minority business accelerators and state and local governments.

These professionals have worked across BB&T’s footprint to develop projects and programs that have improved the lives of thousands of Americans through job and business creation, affordable housing development and sustained neighborhood revitalization.  In the coming year, Truist’s partnership with NDC will advance work on the transformation of our Economic Development Finance curriculum to an online format that can reach even more communities and the professionals who serve them.

Congratulations BB&T, now Truist.

About BB&T, now Truist:

BB&T, now Truist is a purpose-driven company dedicated to building a better future for their customers, teammates and communities.  They are guided by their mission of “making the world a better place to live”, continuing a nearly 150-year old tradition of working with customers and clients to help them achieve economic success and financial security.  But this commitment to excellence in service goes beyond the financial solutions they offer to customers.

BB&T has been firmly rooted in the communities it serves.  This deeper engagement has meant support for local charitable and faith-based organizations through donations, thousands of hours of volunteer work, and leadership development.  It has meant supporting public schools through teacher development.  It has meant financial education for students and faculty.  It has meant disaster relief and continuing recovery services throughout the southeast, with on-site assistance to victims of hurricanes from thousands of BB&T associates.   And most importantly for NDC,  it has meant investing to build stronger and more vital communities.
