The University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), Wood Center Expansion received an AIA Seattle 2017 Honor Awards Energy in Design Award. It was one of two projects selected for this award. The other was the Chatham University Eden Hall Campus by Mithun.
The AIA Seattle Honors Awards – Energy in Design Award debut in 2016, and The Bullitt Center was the first recipient of this award. As stated on the AIA Seattle website – “As part of the 2016 Honor Awards, AIA Seattle is excited to debut the new Energy in Design Award to celebrate projects which balance exceptional design and forward thinking energy performance. This award is not just about one exemplary project; it is about our community’s commitment to innovative, sustainable architecture and leadership among our design peers.”
The Energy in Design Award is the 4th design award for this outstanding project. Previous design awards include SCUP AIA national, ACUI national and AIA Alaska.
