National Development Council’s Grow Long Beach Fund mentioned in the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Spring 2013 Advocate Publication.
Investing in small business is one of the best ways to sustain the health, stability and well-being of a community, and encourage growth. This fact has not been lost on Long Beach which, back in 1997, made a substantial commitment to the small businesses in its communities by approving the establishment of a loan program in partnership with the National Development Council’s Grow America Fund. The result has been the creation or retention of hundreds of jobs in Long Beach and the growth and success of more than twenty companies, like Red Barn Pet Products which, in less than five years, grew from a startup to one of Inc. Magazine’s top 100 manufacturing businesses in the United States.
