For many years the National Development Council has assisted the city of Seattle in meeting its economic goals through sustainable development. Providing technical assistance, acting as the developer for numerous LEED certified municipal buildings and providing New Markets Tax Credits for sustainable projects, NDC has consistently supported Seattle’s efforts to promote environmentally sound practices. Today, NDC is providing development assistance for yet another project that will further these goals. NDC is working with the city to develop a program that will help local utility companies organize their energy rebate programs so they are more accessible and easier to use for local businesses. The City’s (and NDC’s) goal is to help these businesses reduce their energy use and to improve their cash flow.
